A few things to keep in mind
Here’s the deal: when you cram more heat into a smaller zone, it gets intense. Because these custom shapes create such concentrated heat, you’ll want to keep a close eye on your temperature controllers. You don’t want to accidentally overheat the glass. Also, make sure your venting is up to the task. High-wattage, short tubes put out a lot of localized heat, and you don’t want your electrical components frying because the ambient air got too hot. At the end of the day, if you’re running a non-standard glass art setup, the only way to get a perfectly even preheat is to make sure the lamp actually fits the space.
