When you’re putting a heater in a bathroom, a waterproof seal is just the bare minimum. It’s not the only thing that matters. Think about it: if you’ve got a baby or a toddler in the bath, the last thing you want is a harsh, blinding glare hitting their eyes. Most standard short-wave infrared lamps are just too aggressive. They’re bright. Too bright. We figured out a way to fix that by shifting the light spectrum. The secret to “soft light” We don’t want to lose the heat, but we definitely want to lose the glare. So, we use specific quartz coatings and a special filament mix to filter out the UV and the high-frequency light that hurts your eyes. The result? A soft, warm glow. You still get that instant heat that makes a cold morning bearable, but the light stays gentle. Sure, filtering the spectrum means the raw intensity drops a tiny bit, but it’s a trade-off worth making to keep everyone’s eyes safe. Dealing with water and trapped heat Water and electricity are a nightmare pairing. That’s why we build these to IP66 standards. In plain English: they’re dust-tight and can handle a direct blast of water without breaking a sweat. We use tempered glass and high-temp silicone gaskets to keep the insides bone-dry. But here’s the tricky part. When you seal a box that tight, the heat has nowhere to go. If you use cheap materials, the internal temperature spikes, and your lamp burns out way faster than it should. To stop that, we use die-cast aluminum heatsinks. They pull the heat away from the wires and connectors, keeping the whole system cool and happy. A few tips for setup We made these easy to swap into your existing bathroom fixtures. The wiring is pretty basic. Just one thing: keep an eye on your circuit breaker. These lamps pull a decent amount of power the second they kick on. If you’re installing a whole row of them, just double-check your total wattage.
